Skating Programs
We have many public skate formats to choose from at Iroquois Park Sports Centre. They are:
Parent and Tot
This time period is for Moms, Dads and kids and provides you the opportunity to help your kids learn to skate or enjoy time together.
Backyard Rink
There is no need to flood your backyard - use our rinks to introduce your small children to the beginnings of hockey or ringette. Children are to wear protective equipment. Adults are required to wear proper head protection. Bring your sticks and pucks and we'll provide the pylons and nets. Maximum of 2 children per adult. This program is for parents, and children 7 years and under.
Lunchtime Skate
Take a brisk skate during your lunch hour for enjoyment and fitness. A good way to get the whole office ready for a great winter. This program is for adults only.
Public Skate
Public skating periods offer you and your friends the opportunity to get out of the house and take a spin around the ice. All are welcome.
Adult Shinny
For participants 16 years and older, this is a first-come, first-served, pay as you play, drop in shinny program. A great way to stay in the "game" and in shape. This program is not meant for organized teams. Goalies play for free but you are limited to two. Full protective equipment is required.
Senior Skate
Come to keep active and enjoy a leisure skate with other seniors.
Senior Shinny
For participants 55 years and older. Come out and play a pick up game of hockey with other seniors. Goalies play for free, but you are limited to two. Full protective equipment is required.
Please call 668-7765 for dates, times and admission fees to our public skate programs. We also offer special skating times during the March Break and Christmas Break Holidays.
IPSC Hockey League
Our Adult Men’s Hockey League is a non-contact, recreational hockey league for players of all ages and skill level. Our Winter League features 24 games, running from September through to March, while our Summer League has 13 games, running from May to August. With skill levels ranging from "A" division through to "D" division, we have competition to suit every player. Both team entries and individual entries are welcome.
Pick your night of play! Winter leagues run on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings; summer leagues run on Tuesday and Thursday nights. All games are three 10-minute periods, stop time. Our no red line rule encourages wide open play. Team Shut Out and Penalty Free Game awards are given out each week.
