Baycliffe Homes donates $25,000 to Whitby parks
Baycliffe Homes has donated $25,000 to the Town of Whitby to enhance the parks and recreational spaces within the community. Mr. Nick Falvo, owner and president of Baycliffe Homes, made the donation recently as an expression of the company’s commitment to communities in which it does business.
In accepting the donation, Whitby Mayor Marcel Brunelle acknowledged a shared vision with the builder: “Our Town is very proud of our parks, open spaces and recreational services which add immeasurably to the quality of life here in Whitby. It is obvious that you and Baycliffe Homes share this vision of a vibrant community with high quality public places for people to share. We are very fortunate in Whitby to have the support of various groups – including the business community – who take an active role in the continual improvement of our Town. Your kind donation is a great example of this commitment, and a demonstration of civic leadership.”
In recognition of the gift, a new Whitby district park currently in development will be named Baycliffe Park. The 7.5 acre park located in west Whitby at the corner of Twin Streams Road and Baycliffe Drive will have a distinctive celestial theme with many design elements and features adding to the space motif. The upgraded playground equipment will have a space ship look, as will the trellis shade structure. There will be a large, functional sundial and markers indicating the sun, earth and solar system planets placed at proportional distances. Baycliffe Park will also feature a soccer pitch, a water splash pad, a basketball / multi skills court, benches, pathways and extensive landscaping. The $1,165,000 park construction is expected to be complete by late October of this year.
Baycliffe Homes is an award winning builder / developer based
in Vaughan with a 20 year history of projects throughout south central Ontario.
Currently, the company is in the final stages of their Gates of Whitby development
near Taunton and Country Lane, adjacent to the new Baycliffe Park.
